Istanbul: Guided Bosphorus Cruise & Golden Horn Bus Tour

2.Guided Bosphorus Cruise & Golden Horn Bus Tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · 250 reviews · from $33Best value

See Istanbul from three angles: by air-conditioned coach along the Golden Horn, by cable car from Pierre Loti Hill, and by boat on the Bosphorus. An English-speaking guide such as Baki or Sahin explains the sights, with hotel pickup available from central districts.

“We booked this tour without pickup but called and added pickup which we recommend. We started with a drive around Sultanahmet and then around the city walls through Galata and up to Pierre Lotti for amazing views if the Golden Horn. Then down in the cable car to Eyup Sultans Mosque before the boat trip of the Bosphorus from Kabatas. This was about 1.5 hours long. The guide was great and so was the driver. There were only 4 of us on the tour so it was easy to hear, understand and ask questions. The views are amazing and the river tour is excellent. All in all: highly recommendedRead more”

Istanbul Top Attractions sightseeing Hop-on Hop-Off Bus

3.Istanbul Top Attractions sightseeing Hop-on Hop-Off Bus

★★★★★★★★★★3.5 · 197 reviews · 1 day (approx.) · from $69

Use a mobile ticket to board near Sultanahmet, then ride an open-top or air-conditioned bus past Istanbul landmarks, bazaars, palaces, Taksim, and the Bosphorus Bridge. An English audio guide explains the sights, while hourly departures let you choose where to get off.

“Overpriced, poor implementation of schedule (long waits for next busses), and English audio with a difficult British accent. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and accommodating and the busses spotless and modern with USB charging outlets at every seat. It would have been faster and cheaper to use the trams to go everywhere.”

Open-Top Hop-on Hop-off Sightseeing Bus Tour in Istanbul

4.Open-Top Hop-on Hop-off Sightseeing Bus Tour in Istanbul

★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · 195 reviews · 1 day (approx.) · from $68

See Istanbul from an open-top sightseeing bus with multilingual audio commentary and stops at Sultanahmet, the Spice Bazaar, Dolmabahçe, Taksim, and the Asian side. The one-day pass gives you a broad city overview, but traffic, long waits, and unclear ticket instructions can affect your plans.

“The sightseeing bus arrived late to our stop and it was difficult finding the location for pick up. The bus was overbooked and the overflow went the top where it was the hottest. Many people had to stand. There is no air-conditioning on the bus. My headsets didn’t work so had to share my husband’s. No available refreshments, and the tour was very long as we were stuck in downtown traffic most of the time. I don’t recommend this tour. It was a waste of time and money.”
